BLOGGING IS WRITING: A YEAR-LONG CURRICULUM FOR DEVELOPING WRITERS

ISTE Poster Session 2015
Philadelphia, PA

Blogging is the most authentic and practical form of writing we can teach our students in the digital age. Learn how one school blended a traditional writing curriculum with blogging to engage students and share their work with an authentic audience of peers, parents, teachers and real-world readers.

Three teachers explore different ways to incorporate blogging into their curricula for writing: a blended approach alternating free posts with assigned posts based on established forms of writing, a strategy of extending students' writing skills with creative prompts for shorter assignments, and a portfolio approach that asked students to share all of their writing for the class online with a trusted audience of readers.

Thank you for joining us for our ISTE poster session -- virtually or in person! We hope you can benefit from accessing our materials on this wiki. Feel free to be in touch if you have any questions.
